Where To Start Consulting is pleased to introduce Strengths, Skills & Beyond, a workshop series co-developed and co-facilitated by Donna Sheppard and Kim White.

Through our combined professional and lived experience, we have seen that moving forward often starts with a pause. A pause gives people time to notice what they already bring, reconnect with themselves, and explore what may come next.

Our approach is warm, conversational, inclusive and practical. The workshops are designed to complement the work organizations, programs and community groups are already providing.

The Core Workshop Series

Self-Reflection: A Core Skill — 1.5 hours

Participants explore where they are, what has shaped them, and what matters now.

The Strengths, Skills & Beyond series supports this journey through three 1.5-hour workshops.

Organizations can book the complete series or individual workshops.

Strengths & Skills Profile — 1.5 hours

Participants identify strengths, skills, and life experience they may not see in themselves.

Where To Start Roadmap — 1.5 hours

Participants use what they have learned to explore a direction and practical next steps.

Together, the workshops guide participants through… Reflection. Discovery. Direction.

We also offer two additional 1.5-hour workshops. They can follow the core series or be offered on their own.

Pocket Full of Joy — 1.5 hours

Participants notice and reconnect with the small things that bring joy, meaning, and lightness to daily life.

Additional Workshops

Growing with Gratitude — 1.5 hours

Participants explore gratitude in a realistic and meaningful way. Gratitude does not mean ignoring life’s challenges. It means making space to notice what remains good, helpful, and worth holding onto.

Workshop Delivery & Booking

Our workshops combine guided activities, self-exploration and peer discussion. Content draws on research, relevant training, and our professional and lived experience.

Workshops are available virtually or in person where practical. They are well suited to program participants, staff, volunteers and community groups. Organizations can book an individual workshop, the complete core series or discuss a thoughtful adaptation.

Please note that these workshops support skill development. They are not a form of therapy or counselling.

Values. Voice. Connections

Building Your Business, Your Way

Where To Start Consulting is pleased to introduce Building Your Business, Your Way, a three-part workshop series co-developed and co-facilitated by Donna Sheppard and Kim White.

Sometimes, building a business means looking beyond the business plan. It means making choices that reflect your values, finding clear and natural words to explain what you do, and building genuine relationships along the way.

This series recognizes both the business and the person behind it. The workshops are warm, conversational, inclusive and practical. They are designed for new and growing business owners and can also support people who are still exploring an idea.

Building the Business Without Losing the Builder — 1.5 hours

Participants explore the values, choices, unseen work and real-life demands that shape how they build a business—without losing sight of the person behind it.

Your Business in Your Own Words — 1.5 hours

Participants find clear and natural language for what they do, how they do it and why it matters—while keeping their purpose and voice at the centre.

From Conversation to Connection — 1.5 hours

Participants explore a warm and realistic approach to networking and building genuine business relationships in ways that feel comfortable and authentic.

Each workshop can stand alone. Organizations and groups can book the complete three-part series or an individual workshop.

The workshops are available virtually or in person.

Making Space. Finding Support. Moving Forward.

Self-Care Workshop Series

Where To Start Consulting is pleased to introduce our Self-Care Workshop Series, a three-part series co-developed and co-facilitated by Donna Sheppard and Kim White.

Self-care is not always about finding more time. Sometimes it begins with recognizing what we have been carrying, understanding our own needs, and finding realistic ways to support ourselves through everyday challenges.

Our approach is warm, conversational, inclusive and practical. The workshops are designed to complement existing community, workplace and wellness programs.

Making Room for Yourself — 1.5 hours

Participants explore their own needs, responsibilities and priorities while identifying realistic ways to make space for themselves.

When the Strong One Needs Support — 1.5 hours

Participants reflect on the challenges of being the person others depend on, recognizing when support is needed and exploring ways to accept it.

Beginning Again: Where To Start After Change — 1.5 hours

Participants explore the experience of navigating change, reconnecting with themselves and identifying manageable steps toward moving forward.

Organizations can book the complete three-part series or individual workshops. Available virtually or in person where practical.

Support Through Changing Roles

Still a Caregiver

Where To Start Consulting is pleased to introduce Still a Caregiver, a peer-led workshop series developed from professional knowledge and lived caregiving experience.

Caregiving can change relationships, responsibilities and everyday life in ways we may never have anticipated. Whether supporting someone through aging, illness, disability or changing care needs, the experience often carries emotional challenges that are difficult to put into words.

Our approach creates a respectful, conversational and supportive space for family and friend caregivers to reflect on their experiences, recognize shared challenges and explore practical ways forward.

When Caregiving Changes the Relationship — 1.5 hours

Participants explore how caregiving changes familiar roles, routines and relationships while finding ways to maintain connection and recognize their own needs.

Carrying the Decisions — 1.5 hours

Participants reflect on the emotional weight of difficult caregiving decisions, balancing responsibility, uncertainty and the need for appropriate professional guidance.

The Care Did Not End at the Door — 1.5 hours

Participants explore how caregiving continues when someone moves into supported living or long-term care, including changing responsibilities, emotional challenges and maintaining meaningful connections.

Organizations can book the complete three-part series or individual workshops. Available virtually or in person where practical.

These peer-led workshops provide guided reflection, education and shared conversation. They do not replace medical, legal or clinical advice.
